2024 Military Retiree Seminar at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam

The Annual Military Retiree Seminar at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) is set to take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 7:30 am to noon. This in-person event will be held at the Military and Family Support Center (MFSC) building, conveniently located at 4827 Bougainville Drive, across from the NEX Furniture Store and the Garden Shop. Free parking is available, including at the Moanalua Shopping Center near Ruby Tuesdays.

This seminar is open to Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy retirees, their families, Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) annuitants, and surviving spouses. Attendees can look forward to a variety of resource tables staffed by partner agencies offering valuable information and assistance. Key resources include information from organizations like SMP Hawaii, aimed at helping the retired community stay safe and informed.

Resource Highlights:

  1. Fraud Prevention and Safety: With the major holiday season approaching, fraudsters often ramp up their schemes. SMP Hawaii and other partner agencies will provide free publications and information on preventing, detecting, and reporting healthcare fraud, errors, and abuse.
  2. Community Support and Volunteer Programs: Learn more about volunteer opportunities to help others in the community and gain access to crucial benefits and services.
  3. Free Flu Shots: Courtesy of Navy Health Clinic Hawaii, flu shots will be available for attendees (subject to availability).

This year’s seminar will not feature speakers but will focus on providing essential resources and information for the retired community. Agencies like the Commissary, VA Outreach Centers, and the Hawaii State Office of Veterans Affairs (OVS) will be present to offer support and guidance on various topics, including Tricare, VA Benefits, and Social Security.

Join us at the 2024 Military Retiree Seminar to stay informed, connect with resources, and help keep your loved ones safe as we head into the holiday season.
