Two Hawaii residents are among 455 defendants charged in a nationwide U.S. Department of Justice health care fraud and opioid enforcement operation involving more than $6.5 billion in alleged fraudulent claims. The coordinated crackdown targets schemes involving Medicare and Medicaid fraud, illegal opioid distribution, kickbacks, and other health care crimes across the country.
