Duty Free: A Summary
Ageism and Financial Insecurity in America are pervasive. Older folks are invisible in their communities, workplace and sometimes, with their own families. An estimated 25 million older adults won’t have enough money to get through retirement age.
The award-winning film, “Duty Free,” examines these issues, the care crisis and raises these questions: Who will care for and support our parents? Our grandparents? Who will support us as we age?

Experience the journey of film maker Sian-Pierre Regis’ mother, Rebecca Danigelis, 75, who is terminated from her job. Her story is a living testament to the human spirit, the will to survive and adapt to constant change in order to thrive.

After Rebecca gets fired from her job, her son takes her on a bucket-list adventure to reclaim her life. As she struggles to find work, he documents a deeply personal journey that uncovers the betrayals plaguing her past and the economic insecurity soon to shape not only her future, but that of an entire generation.

Watch this inspiring film and raise these questions in your own community, and together, let’s point to solutions that work for all generations.
