Get Your FREE Healthcare Tracker – Medicare Fraud Prevention

Medicare fraud costs an estimated $60 billion per year, affecting Medicare beneficiaries through stress, loss of medical identities, and potential health risks. Families and caregivers also suffer from worry and lost work as they help loved ones recover from fraud.

The Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Hawaii, a federally funded, volunteer-based program managed by the Hawaii State Department of Health, aims to “empower and assist Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to prevent, detect, and report health care fraud, errors, and abuse through counseling, outreach, and education.”

To combat Medicare fraud, SMP Hawaii invites you to participate in Medicare Fraud Prevention Week, June 3-9. Each day, we’ll share valuable tips on how to avoid Medicare scams and help others do the same.

Tuesday – Contact SMP Hawaii for Your FREE Healthcare Tracker

A crucial tool in the fight against Medicare fraud is the Health Care Tracker, now available for free to beneficiaries through the SMP program. These trackers help beneficiaries prevent, detect, and report suspected Medicare fraud, errors, or abuse. Previously known as Personal Health Care Journals, these booklets are now accessible in Chinese-Simplified, Ilocano, Japanese, Korean, and Tagalog.

By maintaining a Health Care Tracker, you can keep a detailed record of your medical visits, services received, and billing information. This helps identify any discrepancies and prevent potential fraud.
