Landon Murata is the Director of the Hawaii Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU). The Unit conducts a statewide program for the criminal and civil investigation and prosecution of provider fraud against the Medicaid Program, fraud in its administration, and abuse or neglect of Hawaii Medicaid recipients and residents of board and care facilities throughout the State. Landon has just under 20 years of criminal and civil law enforcement experience, serving as a deputy attorney general with the Department of the Attorney General’s Criminal Justice Division, a staff attorney with the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs’ Office of Consumer Protection, and a deputy prosecuting attorney for the City and County of Honolulu.
